Occupation Connection

I created this calendar spread to reflect the occupation of a disc jockey and the club atmosphere. I really enjoyed juxtaposing elements like vector and texture, neon and dark, large and small, and practical and whimsical. This was published in a 2011–2012 calendar.

Caramel Maccha What?

This conceptual infographic piece is designed to aid new Starbucks customers in learning its beverages and their contents. The poster, shown first, would ideally hang somewhere near the counter. I envision the booklets on a small kiosk near the door so that customers may grab one on the way to the line. Inside are explanations of syrup and milk options, the infamous size names, keys of ingredient ratios, and even fun facts about coffee. The high level of interactivity is likely to convert any Starbucks virgin into a regular.

Cool Kids Cook!

These two books are the Cool Kids Cook! series by Kid Chef Eliana. She encourages kids to branch out to try more than pizza and chicken nuggets by introducing fun, easy recipes that happen to be delicious. Written by a kid for a kid, it was important for this series to speak to a younger audience through bright colors and engaging illustrations. With Pelican Publishing Company, I was given total control over all layout, design, and illustration. The first book shown is Cool Kids Cook! Louisiana and the second is Cool Kids Cook! Fresh & Fit.

Huey's Bar

Huey's Bar challenged the usual happy hours by introducing Diamond Night, which allows lucky ladies the chance to win a $2000 diamond. Through a blend of nostalgic style and modern techniques, the event poster evokes all the class and glamour of the Audrey Hepburn era while still appealing to this century's taste.

Red Six Media

In a high-volume boutique agency, it's easy to push back any work that isn't a client's. Last year, that meant the Red Six Media Christmas cards had been pushed back on Basecamp a few times too many. Instead of a second-rate card, we thought we could show our clients the complicated thought processes of our own holiday card. There were too many fun ideas to choose just one, so this was only fair.

Kid Chef Eliana

Kid Chef Eliana is an award-winning 13-year-old author, radio show host, and personality from New Orleans. Her mission is to inspire kids to explore new foods. As a busy girl, Eliana needed a visual identity suite to attract and retain clients and contacts. Staying true to her bright personality and passion for culinary enrichment, I created an endearing logo and some kid-friendly food patterns that are easily carried across other media.

Cancer Services

Cancer Services is a locally-owned nonprofit organization that empowers Baton Rouge cancer patients and their families by helping them meet various needs. As a well-established company, they decided it was time for an update. Blue and red connect ideas of both health and trust, while an expanded color palette ties various formats together. Heartwarming imagery communicates the local flavor and caring nature for which Cancer Services is known.

Daughters of Triton

This was a fun self-started project revolving around a certain fish-tailed princess. I created a concert poster for Ariel and her sisters that would be posted all around Atlantis. As a self-professed mermaid freak, this is one of my most enjoyable projects to date.

Typeface Cosmetics

This conceptual packaging set is a sample of what Typeface Cosmetics might manufacture. The tagline of Typeface Cosmetics is "turning geek into chic." The brand is geared toward graphic designers, and subsequently infuses design humor into all its naming processes. Colors are named after fonts and products are named after design terms, techniques, and styles. The inside flap of each package features a flirty emoticon in the font of its color.

Ophelia Swimwear

This cheerful website is geared toward fun-loving girls with a passion for stylish suits and sandals. Even as trends change, Ophelia Swimwear's classic summer palette won't soon go out of season. The site features well-organized menus and eye-catching product spotlights.

Ruby Slipper Presentations

Ruby Slipper Presentations was founded by a Californian woman with a mission to celebrate the brains, hearts, and courage of kids through interactive theater and educational assemblies. The logo and business cards create a positive feeling that is accessible to kids, parents, and teachers alike.

The Cinderella Project

The Cinderella Project is a Baton-Rouge-based nonprofit organization originally created to help teenage girls find the perfect prom dress through donations. They have since grown to include a scholarship and a leadership program. To garner support for their new endeavors, The Cinderella Project needed branding that would appeal to both investors and teens. The final look demonstrates confidence and elegance through jewel tones, pastels, and fabric textures.
